EchoBound
A downloadable game
Echobound is a puzzle-action (or well will be when it fully comes out) game built for the panic playdate console (it can also be played on the simulator).
right now there's really not much.
currently there is:
- level 1-1
- level 1-2
- level 1-3
- a short tutorial
- automatic and manual progress and settings save system
- freeplay mode (play any level you want)
- an invert colours setting (ik, groundbreaking)
i plan to try and provide around 1 update a week, sometimes 2 or maybe even none, depending on how much content i add, life, etc. i'll try to get updates out as quick as i can but i'd rather provide fun, quality focused content than repetitive, quantity focused content.
what i plan to add in the future:
- (a lot) more levels
- enemies / obstacles - planned for around Demo V4/5
- puzzle mechanics - planned for around Demo V4
- fun game modes, like time trials, reverse mode, etc - not started yet, planned for full release
- an actual, good looking art style - a few sprites in development
- more settings, like some more accessibility, helpful and fun ones - sometime
- redesign the current UI - not started yet, planned for full release
- probably a lot more
Notes:
this was made using playdate pulp which doesn't really allow for many advanced features unless you use some quite complicated workarounds so i'm suprised i managed to get this working at all.
I don't currently own a playdate so i cant really test the performance on the actual console so if anyone wants to try it on theirs (or on the simulator if you also don't have one) and give me any feedback or tell me about any bugs you find, that would be greatly appreciated!
im also open to suggestions about the game - like new levels, features, etc.
Thanks guys, and have fun playing!
